Gahirmatha Beach, located in the Indian state of Odisha, is renowned for being the world’s largest nesting site for the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles. This pristine and secluded beach, part of the Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary, attracts nature enthusiasts and conservationists alike. Every year, thousands of Olive Ridley turtles come ashore to lay their eggs on the sandy shores of Gahirmatha, turning it into a natural spectacle known as the mass nesting phenomenon.

The beach is protected and managed by the Forest Department to ensure the safety of the nesting turtles and their eggs. Visitors can witness this incredible event during the nesting season, usually between November and April. Strict regulations are in place to minimize human interference and maintain the ecological balance of the area.
